Sarah Anderson is a graduate of The Savannah College of Art and Design with a B.F.A. in Photography. While her interests in photography are diverse her two main passions are Film Still Photography (whether for Film, Television or Stage) and Large Format & Alternative Photography.
Her passion for Film Stills began in college when she photographed stage productions. The challenge of photographing a performance, with moving part, sets, and lights provided a delightful balance of challenge and reward. After college Anderson began working as a Unit Stills Photographer for independent films and web series. She currently shoot stills with a Nikon D3s and a Jacobson Sound Blimp.
Her passion for Large Format photography came during a class in college. Anderson fell in love with the medium because it "slowed the process down enough to allow you to really understand you shot." Her love of Alternative photography came during an Alternative Processes class. Some of her favorite processes are Platinum/Palladium printing, pinhole -she has built her own 4x5 pinhole camera- and holga.
"Photography is precision and accident. Both must exist within photography and both must be resolved within the soul of the photographer."
When she is not photography Anderson enjoys traveling -both internationally and in the States-, reading, dancing, writing and creating works outside the realm of photography. She is currently writing her first novel and screenplay.
